5 Tips for the Coziest Christmas Mantle

  1. Even if you live someplace warm,  add a few logs or candles inside of your fireplace.  Even if it’s not lit, it adds tons of cozy winter charmCozy Winter Decorating, Winter Mantle, 5 Tips for the Coziest Winter Mantle
  2. Place a basket near your fireplace filled with comfy blankets and pillows.  This helps encourage your guest to sit relax and enjoy themselves.Cozy Winter Decorating, Winter Mantle, 5 Tips for the Coziest Winter Mantle
  3. Avoid limp or ill hanging stockings by slightly filling them with paper or plastic bags.  This gives them a little shape while waiting for Santa to come!

  4. Add a wreath!  Adding a wreath over your fireplace not only helps draw your eye up but the fresh (or in my case artificial garland wreath) adds some winter wonderland charm.Cozy Winter Decorating, Winter Mantle, 5 Tips for the Coziest Winter Mantle
  5. Coordinate your stockings.  They don’t have to match perfectly, but find a mix that are either similar in color, or texture like my DIY Sport Coat Stockings (Coming Soon).   This will help unify the theme of your room.  Bringing everything together perfectly!

    1. Thank you Samantha! Since our mantle has an open space between the stocking and the fireplace they hang all weird and twisted if I don’t put something in them. The bags are a great way to give them some shape without over filling them!

  1. Wow! Cat Your the most creative with your space! Just picture perfect! The tree look so pretty with all the plaid bows, love the added touch with the ice skates. Dreaming of Christmas at you house.
Have a wonderful holiday with your loves.

    1. Thank you so much Sue! I it really means a lot to me! For some reason I felt like I was in a Christmas Decorating rut this year. After redoing it more than once I think I finally got it right!

  2. I love your how you styled your mantel it is gorgeous. The garland and wreath are so pretty. Your tip using bags to help sagging stockings is genius! I love your creativity and can’t wait to see your coat stockings.

  3. Great tips for a mantel. Love the idea of having cozy blankets and pillows near the fireplace (I do this and it look real cozy). Your home is so very well coordinated and looks great for the season.

  4. Your mantel looks amazing, Cat! I love the garland, the stockings, the ceiling medallion… it all works together so well to create such a warm, cozy feeling! Merry Christmas 🙂
