A Modern Take on Brown Paper Packages

Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!!

On this very special day before Christmas I am sharing 5 fun ways to dress up my new favorite wrapping paper, brown paper packages. Brown paper packages are more versatile than you think! Plus they travel, stack, and ship better than other kinds of papers, especially when tied up with string!

1. Washi Tape

Washi tape is a great way to add a little charm to brown paper packages and it doesn’t get much easier than this. I simply cut two strips of washi tape and applied them at an angle to two corners of the present and added a fun gift tag I purchased at target.

2. Rubber Stamps

How cute is this rubber stamped brown paper package? Plus these are super easy to make too! I found most of my stamps and ink at Target. The possibilities are endless with rubber stamps!

3. Ribbon

Another fun way to dress up brown paper packages is with simple ribbon bands. Not only is it inexpensive but they pack and ship great! No more smashed bows! Simply cut your ribbon to the desired length wrap around your present and tape in place. Fast, fast, fast! I found all of this cute ribbon at the Dollar Store and my fun, festive Santa gift tag came from Target’s Dollar Spot. Easy, classy, and inexpensive! It doesn’t get much better than that!

4. Pretty Poinsettia Embellishments

5. String and Felt

While I actually purchased this little felt cutie from Target, these would also be super simple to make. All youneed is a hole punch, some string and a little bit of felt. They look super cute and can easily be saved and reused year after year. These are also great alternative to smashed Christmas bows if you are sending presents to friends and family.
