Now it may seem strange that after all this time I am just now hanging curtains, but it’s true. After I painted our beautiful Stenciled Brick Accent Wall and then hung my diy Romantic Industrial Frames I was afraid adding curtains would not only take away from the wonderful arches above the windows but make the room too busy. Boy was I wrong! Curtains were exactly what our bedroom needed! Not only did these curtains add the perfect finishing touch to the room but the embroidered edge actually draws more attention to those beautiful arches!
96″ Sheer White Curtains
Cotton Embroidery Thread
To start my new curtains first I ironed out all of the packaging creases along the upper edge. Then I started pinning pleats into the top of the curtains.
Next I started sewing a large version of a herringbone embroidery stitch.
After my first row was finished I started over at the beginning again until I had a total of 5 overlapping rows. Once all of panels were embroidered I hung my new curtains, steamed out any wrinkles and that’s it! Seriously one of the easiest diy projects! Plus they look great in our bedroom!
