Hi All!
Today I am back with a few of my bloggy friends to bring you My Home Style: Before and After Edition! Basically we all take a look back our favorite spaces and take you on a journey. Where they started to where they are now. Proving that with a little bit of elbow grease any regular old space can become something beautiful!
When we moved into our current in house in February of 2015 to say it was magazine ready was an understatement. In fact to say it was ready for anything was an understatement.
Not only did it have bad lighting but the room was as plain as plain could be. Just an average bedroom in an average 1980 something suburban house. Complete with popcorn ceilings and a blah light fixture.
But under all that blah-ness there were a two great features. With soaring 12 ft ceilings that seemed to go on for days and nice new wood floors there was a spark of potential hiding in that bland room after all. The opportunity to turn that spark into a fire came in May of 2015.
We received this Brick All Over Wall Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils and added a bit of our own homemade chalkpaint. And Viola! we had character! Okay, maybe now Viola! It was more like 20 hours of painting each brick individually then, Viola! You can read all about my brick paining process and including all nine, (yes there are really 9) paint colors, and how I created those realistic arches in our Stenciled Brick Feature Wall Post.
The next step in our Romantic Industrial master bedroom update was to add a little wall art. I combined stock frames, Hobby Lobby wall hooks, and some thrifted belts to make these fun and funky frames. You can read all about my Romantic Industrial Frames including step-by-step instructions here.
To complete the look of our Romantic Industrial Master Bedroom I added a little fun and funky texture to some white curtains in our Create and Share White Curtain Challenge. and added some much needed softer lights inspired by old electrical insulators with these Romantic Industrial DIY Insulator Pendant Lights.
All in all I would say that the days of this bedroom being plain jane and boring are behind us! Now it is all about textures, industrial elements, vintage finds, and a few romantic touches.

GORGEOUS! I love, love, love the mix of industrial and romantic here. And the pop of blue that the nightstand gives to the room is perfect. Love the hanging art too! I just want to live here. 🙂
