With the holidays being an overwhelming and crazy time of the year I knew I wanted to keep my Winter Wonderland Craft fairly simple. After the incident with my tree and ultimately having to decorate it twice this year I decided that I wanted to give my tree a little make over. So I spent a decent amount of time looking around for cute ornaments that wouldn’t break the bank. I finally scored these little cuties for $1 each at Hobby Lobby. They are adorable, nice and thick so they’ll survive my munchkin and I couldn’t beat the price. So I grabbed as many of them as they had left and rushed to the checkout counter before they realized they were selling them for 1/3 of the price of all their other ornaments.
While I love how beautiful they are before I decided to dress a few of them up as a Simple Joy Ornament. The easiest way to do this? My Silhouette Machine of course!
To make this fast and easy change, I grabbed my laptop and opened my Silhouette Studio Software. After finding a font I liked I made a fast and easy design, loaded my mat and hit cut. Since the font was so small weeding my design was a bit of a pain, but it didn’t take too long.
Next I used a small scrap of transfer tape and placed positioned the vinyl on my ornament. That’s it! A seriously fast and easy project plus I got to use up some of my mounting vinyl scraps! Making this project all around affordable, and easy!
The simple text was a great addition to our beautiful tree! And I just couldn’t resist the way it looks with all of the natural green foliage!

Thank you so much Rachel!
These are so great. So simple, yet so pretty. I love the vinyl especially the black. I use it for almost every project that includes vinyl. I cannot seem to part with it. It just has a certain elegance to it especially in these ornaments. Very nice!
I agree! I love the black vinyl! Thank you Michelle!
So simple, but these look so beautiful! I love them.
Thank you so much Kati!
