I will say that while I thoroughly enjoyed this months project I will say that Air Dry Clay is much harder to work with then I originally anticipated. I actually made two projects for this months theme because I couldn’t decide which idea I liked more. In the end one project cracked while drying making my decision much easier. But never fail, I am going to attempt it again, just because I think it’s that cool, and come up with the right way to make it all come together.
With all that said, I really do like my little DIY Gold Rimmed Bowl and I can’t wait to share how I made it with you!
- Air Dry Clay
- Gold Nail Polish
- Small Glass Bowl
- Wax Paper
- Rolling Pin
To start my simple DIY Gold Rimmed Clay Bowl I grabbed a hunk of my Air Dry Clay mashed it into a ball and rolled it out to 1/8″ using a rolling pin on a piece of parchment paper.
Next I used a my small glass bowl to shape my DIY Gold Rimmed Bowl. First I placed it inside to create the general shape. Then gently tore some of the clay off around the edges to create a rough look. Next I removed the clay from the inside of the bowl and flipped the bowl upside down and laid it on top of the over turned bowl. To smooth out all the wrinkles, and marks I dipped my fingers in water and gently smoothed them away.
Then I left m bowl to dry for two days.
Finally to finish up my DIY Gold Rimmed Bowl I grabbed some gold nail polish and carefully apply a small band of gold around the edges of the bowl.
Thank you so much or stopping by to check out my DIY Gold Rimmed Bowl! Don’t forget to check out all the other amazing Air Dry Clay projects!

I love this project! I didn’t participate because I knew this was not one of my strengths. My project would have looked more like the Hunchback of Notre Dame! Have a great one!
I’m sure whatever you made would have been lovely! Thank you so much for stopping by Benita!
