Stress Relieving Lavender Lemonade

Hi All!

As we all know life can be a crazy stressful adventure full of ups and downs and sometimes loads of lemony experiences.  So what do you do when all of those sour lemony experiences keep piling up?  Turn them in to Lemonade of course!  But not just any Lemonade, turn them into Lavender Lemonade!

Lavender Lemonade contains natural relaxing properties that can help relive stress, fight off headaches, receive stomach bloating, and just and overall cup of positive vibes.  Not to mention is makes your house smell amazing!!

So how do you make a cool glass of this ultimate relaxing nectar?

1 cup of sugar
2 cups of water
2 1/2 cups of fresh squeezed lemon juice (10-15 lemons depending on size and amount of juice)
1/4 cup of dried lavender blooms
Coffee filter
8 cups of water
Lavender food coloring (optional)

To start brewing your delicious Lavender Lemonade start by boiling 2 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar in a sauce pan.    While the water and sugar heats up take 1/4 cup of lavender blooms and place them in a coffee filter then tie the filter off with some string.

Once your lavender tea bag is finished drop it into the pot of water and sugar.  Boil for 5-7 minutes until the sugar is dissolved.  Once it is finished remove it from the heat and let it cool for 20 + minutes.   While the sugar liquid is cooling juice 10-15 lemons or until you have 2 1/2 cups of fresh squeezed lemon juice.

After the sugar liquid has cooled remove the lavender tea bag and throw it away.

Pour lemon juice and cooled lavender/sugar mixture into pitcher then add 8 cups of cool water and stir.   If you you want to add a little lavender color to your lemonade using a tooth pick add a very small amount of this Lavender food coloring.  Serve over ice with a fancy straw for extra relaxation and enjoyment!   Or turn it into an adult drink by switching to 6 cups of water and adding some vodka.

To make the easy entertaining version switch the 2.5 cups of fresh squeezed lemon juice for 3 cups of store bought lemon juice.
