Hi All!

It’s been quite around here, I know. But after finding out some news that was going to drastically affect our little family in the next year, I found it necessary to take some time off and just spend as much time with everyone as possible.   With that being said I am looking forward to a big come back in 2018!  The New Year is always something I look forward to and this year is no exception.  2018 is going to be amazing!  And here are just a few things I am planning on this year!

What You’ll See From Me in 2018

With a year of changes, littles starting school and going back to work part time it’s not surprising to see my design style changing too. I’v been moving in a simpler, cleaner direction lately.  More specifically, I’ve been clearing out a lot of the excess clutter from every aspect of my life.  I have to say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. The house is staying cleaner, which is saying something since I’m not at home as much to make sure that happens. But more than that, I feel less stressed. Moving out all the excess clutter has helped me to feel more calm when I am at home.

So with this new enlighten simplified life in mind, my design style is definitely shifting in the same direction. You can expect to see simpler, clean lines.  Along with a mixture of modern design elements with a nod to all of my favorite vintage finds.

The Publishing buG

It’s official I’ve been bitten by the publishing bug!  You can also expect to see a book this year! Yes, really! I’ve had an idea I’ve been mulling around with for a while and I am happy to announce I have finally started putting pen to paper, or more accurately fingers to keyboard and am well underway with my first book! Pretty exciting right!  I can’t wait to get work out all the details and get everything pulled together!

Kicking off the New Year Right: New Year, New Room Challenge

With the New Year almost upon us, I am super excited to announce that I will be participating in the New Year, New Room Challenge again this year!  My wonderful friend Stephanie over at Casa Watkins Living organizes it each year and I have to say it is the perfect way to kick off the new year!

Last year we were fortunate enough to give our living room a beautiful make over and it is still my favorite room in the house!  The big striped rug, family heirloom chairs and that gorgeous turned wood coffee table have left me in living room heaven.

So you may be wondering what space I’ll be making over this year?  Well for that you’ll just have to wait and see but I will tell you it all started with wanting to swap out a mirror and has ballooned into a whole room refresh!  But it is such a pretty mirror isn’t it! I am so excited to see how this whole makeover is going to turn out!
